Abstract
The essence of A. Ilhan‟s artistic point of view is socialist realism. According to him, the writer should reflect the truth as it is. He believes that the artist should guide the society with his works. In the sequence Reflections in the Mirror, A. Ilhan states that he saw the events described in his novels in the mirror but the mirror was foggy. A. Ilhan narrates the social events that happened between the War of Independence and the coup of 27 May 1960 in the Reflections in the Mirror. One of the novels of this series is Dersaadet‟te Sabah Ezanlari (Morning Azan in Dersaadet). The author has made quotations from newspaper clippings, Assembly minutes that document the events he describes in his novel - as will be seen in others. This attitude has led to the attention being concentrated on a particular name among novels characters. The hero is a young man named Osman Nevres. When sources are examined, there are a few important people named Osman Nevres. In this study, considering A. Ilhan's opinions on art, the question of who the novelist Osman Nevres is, has been debated.
