Abstract
The crank pulley is a tuned mass damper that is used to reduce torsional vibrations in the crankshaft in internal combustion engines and to dampen the damage of torsional movement to the engine assembly. The damping ability of the crank pulleys is realized with the help of the rubber on the pulley. In addition to the mechanical properties of rubbers, their rigidity during the manufacturing and assembly stages is important. According to the literature researches, it is known that the damping capabilities of rubbers change depending on the manufacturing method. In this study, two different tight fit methods for rubber rings used in crank pulleys were examined. The mechanization method was applied to the investigated processes. Before and after mechanization tests of the crank pulleys produced by two different methods were carried out and the results were discussed.
