Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the social construction of stone-breaker women, namely (1) to describe the background of women working as stone-breakers in domestic life, (2) to describe the perception of stone-breaker women on the work they do, (3) to describe the role of stone-breaker women. stone in fulfilling the family economy, (4) describing the double workload faced by women. This type of research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Sources of data were obtained through interviews with informants. The main instrument of this research is the researcher himself with a supporting instrument in the form of interviews. Collecting data using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data is then analyzed for data collection, data presentation, reduction and conclusion. The results showed: (1) The background of women working as stone crushers in Jatisari Village, Tempeh District is to help the family economy, (2) The perception of women in working full of motivation from the family and ignoring community assessments, (3) The role of women stone crushers in fulfilling family economy by participating in work, (4) The double workload faced by women who work as stone-breakers must be carried out with full responsibility.
