One of the corruption eradication mandates assigned to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is to carry out anti-corruption education at each level of education, carry out anti-corruption public campaigns, and promote corruption eradication programmes (Law No 30/2001 on the Corruption Eradication Commission). To make anti-corruption education more effective, alternative media need to be developed that are more interesting and fun but do not detract from the essence and objectives of the learning itself. The KPK developed eight more anti-corruption and integrity board games for a wider audience, including young children, young people, students, educators, business people, and politicians. Board games are an interactive anti-corruption learning media that offer a unique way of looking at something, promote open communication, and challenge the players to work together to achieve results. Board games can be used an alternative learning media to instil anti- corruption values from a young age, and as a media for public anti-corruption promotion and campaign

  • Rita Stebler + 4 more

Kindergarten children enjoy playing games, as games bring motivation and active learning. Many board and card games require mathematical competencies and, therefore, carefully selected board and card games could be used as meaningful learning tasks for mathematics education in early childhood. With this in mind, several games for fostering quantity-number competencies have been implemented in an intervention study. The study included 6 years old children and three conditions: training program (n=110), play-based intervention (n=89) and control group (n=125). For this article, videos involving 21 children in ten teams from one of the most widely played games in the play-based intervention were selected for in-depth analysis: the board game Shut the Box. This explorative analysis of children’s mathematical behaviour and peer support whilst playing a board game allows researching in what way a specific game provides a meaningful learning task for early mathematics. The results show that children employ several mathematical skills while playing, depending on their individual quantity-number competencies. As the game can be easily repeated several times, the children practise and shape mathematical skills and monitor and support their co-player in order to increase their chances of winning the game. It is suggested that the board game provides an adaptive and motivating setting, which can meet the learning needs of low as well as high achieving children.

Based on the research that has been carried out, the results obtained are interactive learning media that is suitable and effective for use in learning. The interactive learning media based on the contextual approach that was developed was declared feasible and effectively applied in the learning process. The results of the effectiveness test calculation based on the results of the univariate t-test obtained a tcount of 13,945 which was then compared with the ttable value at a significance level of 5% with dk = 27 which was 2.05. The results show that t-count > t-table (13,945 > 2.05), so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The effectiveness of using interactive learning media can also be seen from the increase in the average science knowledge competency of students as measured through pretest and posttest. The average pretest score was 58.9 and the average posttest score was 92.6. Thus, it can be concluded that interactive learning media for economic material can be applied in learning science content for fifth grade elementary school.
