Abstract

The kinetics of the Curie temperature relaxation phenomena of amorphous Fe32Ni36Cr14P12B6, including the effect of preannealing, are shown to be well explained in terms of the activation energy spectrum for anelasticity if we assume that an anelastic atomic rearrangement affects the local compositional short-range order of about 10 atoms. This result further supports the view that the kinetics of various reversible relaxation phenomena are determined by anelasticity.
