Abstract
A kinetic study of the reactions of anilines with the dimeric cationic complex of palladium(II) [Pd( o -CH 2C 6H 4CN)(PPh 3) 2] 2(BF 4) 2 emphasized the production of amidino mononuclear complexes through the breaking of the PdCN bonds, and the formation of an intermediate with the activate nitrile group where the amine reacts through an analogous two-step mechanism for both primary and secondary anilines.
