Abstract

The results are given of an investigation of changes in the intensity field in the zone of interaction between CO2 laser radiation and a moving aerosol. The experimental data on the distribution of the transparency in the transverse direction through the interaction zone are in satisfactory agreement with calculations carried out using approximate analytic expressions. A considerable difference is found between the relations describing the bleaching of moving and stationary aerosols.
