Abstract
A theory that describes the diffusion of an intercalate within graphite in a multiphase situation is presented. The theory was applied to the intercalation of bromine in graphite. Single-phase diffusion represents the intercalation of bromine in graphite as well as multiphase diffusion due to the dominance of the final stage.
