Abstract

A simple and sensitive one-step approach for the rapid colorimetric detection of v-Src kinase using functionalized gold nanoparticles (NPs) in solution is reported. The generic concept operates without labeled ATP-derivatives, and signals are recorded directly by spectrophotometry. For the first time, surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy is applied to an NP system and compared to a semi-quantitative NP reaction model that was developed to determine the association rate constants and the rate-limiting step of the NP agglutination process.
