Abstract
A simple method of comparing species distributions, when the latter are in the form of lists of latitude–longitude coordinates, is described. The average of the distance in kilometres between the nearest neighbor of each individual of species A in species B and of species B in species A is used as a pair function. The matrix of pair functions for all species comparisons is then amenable for any of the techniques of numerical taxonomy. A small example using Turkish Papaver is given.
