Abstract

During the past 10 years, a great deal of worldwide research has been directed towards exploring "beyond CMOS" information processing technologies. In the US, much of that work has been focused within the Nanoelectronics Research Initiative (NRI) formed in 2005. This presentation will not summarize the research results that have come out of that effort but will draw some conclusions from that work to form some projections about future research directions.
