Abstract
A new sesquiterpene coumarin (karatavicinol A, 7), along with six known sesquiterpene coumarins, umbelliprenin (1), farnesiferol C (2), farnesiferol B (3), galbanic acid (4), 7-hydroxycoumarin (5), and 10′R-karatavicinol (6), have been isolated from the CHCl3 extract of Ferula sinkiangensis resin, which was certified to have in vivo anti-ulcer activity. The structure of the new compound has been elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data.
