Abstract

Polypyrroles (PPY) containing a small amount of poly(ethylene oxyde) (PEO) were prepared by electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole in the presence of PEO. The conductivity of PPy-PEO samples decreased with increasing PEO content but the samples were more stable and the change in conductivity resulting from aging or heat treatment was comparatively small. The rectifying contacts between PPy-PEO and indium were observed in heat-treated PPy-PEO samples. From the capacitance-voltage measurement, it is estimated that a Schottky barrier is formed.
