Abstract

Delayed gastric emptying (GE) is a situation in which ingested material remains in the stomach for too long a period of time. It would seem reasonable that such people would have upper gastrointestinal (UGI) symptoms, especially post-prandial fullness, early satiety, nausea, and/or vomiting. However, Vijayvargiya et al noted that the medical literature is discordant when investigators have attempted to demonstrate such an association, so they decided to undertake a systematic review to address this issue1. Their observations are the topic of this installment of the JPEN Journal Club This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
