Abstract

In this paper, we consider the problem of resource allocation and high Peak-to-average Power Ratio (PAPR) for the downlink of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access (OFDMA) system. A joint optimization method for subcarriers allocation and Tone Reservation PAPR reduction is proposed, where a portion of subcarriers are reserved to reduce the PAPR. And then the adaptive subcarriers allocation technology is applied to the OFDMA systems to enhance the throughput. The proposed joint algorithm achieves better performance in PAPR reduction and total throughput than the other independent algorithms. The simulation results show that the proposed TR technique with adaptive subcarriers allocation in OFDMA systems can effectively reduce the PAPR. And subject to power, bit error rates (BER) and rate proportionality constraints, it also maximizes the throughput.
