Abstract

Sex Differences in the Brain, edited by Jill B. Becker, Karen J. Berkley, Nori Geary, Elizabeth Hampson, James P. Herman, and Elizabeth A. Young, is a comprehensive book that describes the latest research on the numerous differences between the male and female brain. Taking a neurobiological point of view, the text provides the reader with a comprehensive overview of how genes and behavior—or genotype and phenotype—differ between the sexes. The book is arranged into three sections: (I) Strategies, Methods, and Background (Chapters 1–6); (II) Sex Differences in Neurobiology and Behavior (Chapters 7–16); and (III) Sex Differences in the Neurobiology of Disease (Chapters 17–23).
