Janani –Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK): Is This Scheme Enough For a Sick Newborn with Congenital Disorders. Every year more than 1.3 million infants die within one year of the birth and out of these approximately 0.9 million i.e. 2/3rd of the infant deaths take place within the first four weeks of life. Congenital disorders or birth defects are present in about 3% of newborns [2].
