Abstract

The new species here described was first discovered among ticks collected in 1960 in Chiriqui Province, Republic of Panama, from squirrels (Sciurus granatensis chiriquensis), by Major Vernon J. Tipton, MSC, U. S. Army. Additional specimens from the same host species and in the same Province were collected in 1961 by Major Tipton and by Drs. Conrad E. Yunker and James M.
