Abstract

Inosine triphosphatase (ITPA) genetic variants are functionally related to ribavirin (Rbv) induced anemia during PegInterferon (PegIFN) and Rbv based antiviral treatments. Rbv is recommended in cirrhotic patients when using IFN free regimens. The possibility to predict anaemia may improve patient management and could affect treatment decision. The aim of our study was to investigate the role of ITPA deficiency in prediction of anaemia during IFN free DAAs regimens.
