Abstract

Recently, some time-frequency (TF) analysis methods such as time-reassigned synchrosqueezing transform (TSST), time-reassigned multisynchrosqueezing transform (TMSST), and so on, have been proposed to analyze frequency-varying signals. However, there are still some problems to be solved, especially when the signal is the strong frequency-varying signal. In this paper, a new TF analysis method named iterative rounded transient-extracting transform (IRTET) is proposed. Based on the method of TMSST, the group delay estimate is rounded and an extraction operator is introduced, solving the problems of non-reassigned point and noise diffusion in the TF plane. At the same time, the TF energy is greatly concentrated. The proposed method in this paper is not only to provide an algorithm for strong frequency-varying signals, but also to provide a novel extractive framework for reassigned TF analysis methods. The numerical and real signals are used to verify the effectiveness of our method.
