Abstract
A membrane-DNA complex isolated from the mitochondria of thymidine kinase deficient mouse cells could be shown to contain in addition to mitochondrial DNA two different DNA polymerases: (i) Mitochondrial DNA polymerase 1 exhibiting characteristics of the DNA polymerase described for HeLa cell mitochondria and (ii) mitochondrial DNA polymerase 2 showing properties comparable to those of the DNA polymerase isolated from mouse liver mitochondria.
