Abstract

Isolated temporal bone metastasis is rare condition in lung cancer patient. We present a patient with adenocarcinoma of lung, which metastasized to petrous apex of temporal bone without other site of involvement. The initial manifestations were dizziness, vertigo and blurred vision shortly followed by tinnitus and earache. These symptoms were easily overlooked at first. The diagnosis was established by magnetic resonance imaging of brain. Radiotherapy was performed and achieved partial response. Petrous apex of temporal bone metastasis is often asymptomatic until late in the course of the disease. Early diagnosis depends on high index of suspicion and image study.
