Abstract

Pyrolysis kinetics of cornstalk (CS), bamboo fiber powder (BFP) and their blends with anthracite (AN) was investigated by differential isoconversional method. The role of AN additive was different in blending with different biomasses, which decreased the activation energy of CS, but increased that of BFP. Deconvolution by Fraser-Suzuki function resolved the overlapped rate curves into three independent pseudo components with high accuracy, improving the correlation coefficients and reasonable conversion ranges for isoconversional kinetics. The influences of AN additive on the activation energy of pseudo components agreed with those observed in overall kinetic parameters, which was probably attributed to thermal diffusivity, bringing positive or negative synergy depending on the thermal properties of biomass. Most of the changes were distributed in pseudo hemicellulose and lignin, and further increased along with the pyrolysis process. Reproduction of rate curves was realized based on obtained kinetic parameters, which validated that the kinetic analyses were high-quality.
