Abstract

Society has changed over the ages and the most drastic social changes have been provoked by revolution. In this view, revolution is a form of social changes despite its elusive concept. Therefore, today’s social system in which we are living is a product of varied revolutions in history. The purpose of this paper is to prove whether Islam can be a theory of revolution or not. I investigate if there has been any aspect of Islamic history assimilating with characteristics of revolution happened in countries. To theorize about Islamic revolution, this article suggests new conceptual framework of causes and stages of revolution.
