Abstract

A spectroradiometer along with an Apple IIe computer for data acquisition, storage and spectral scanning in the range 0.8–13 μm is described. The evaluation of the conversion factor for the spectroradiometer and the calibration of the detector with respect to a variable temperature microprocessor controlled blackbody source are discussed. Also, the experimentally determined spectral irradiance value of a heated ceramic rod, which is used as a source in most of the commercial infrared spectrophotometers, and the estimation of probable uncertainties in the measurement have been reported.
