Abstract
Selective and catalytic C-C bond cleavage of pentane-dinitriles and 5-oxohexanenitriles can be performed in the presence of iridium hydride complex IrH 5 (Pi-Pr 3 ) 2 (1). The key steps of this reaction are α-C-H activationof the cyano or carbonyl group and subsequent β-carbon elimination.
