Abstract

In this paper, the regularities of ion beam-induced electron emission from modified surface layers of different carbon-based materials under high-fluence irradiation are outlined. The materials considered here are those whose bonding is sp2 – polygranular graphites, highly oriented pyrolytic graphites and glassy carbons. The results are discussed in terms of accumulation and annealing of the radiation damage and their effect on electron transport in carbon-based materials.
