Abstract

ReCell, a Department of Energy managed program led by Argonne National Laboratory, is working to develop and scale, battery recycling technologies that improve the economics of responsible end-of-life lithium-ion battery management beyond where they are today. Four focus areas are targeted: direct cathode recycling, recovery of non-cathode materials, design for sustainability, and modeling and analysis. This presentation will provide a brief summary of ReCell’s work to create a profitable battery recycling system as well as some examples of its progress.
