Abstract
For estimating capabilities of cooling in case of nano fluid materials experiments such as forced convective for steady state have been conducted made of two different Carbon nanomaterials, Multi-Walled Carbon Nano Tubes (MWCNT) and Multi-Walled Carbon Nano Coils (MWCN). Nanomaterials have been synthesized in house and they are denoted using the SEM and TEM. The nanofluids have been prepared by dispersing the nanomaterials, functionalized with hydrophilic groups, in the base fluids. The studies have been carried out for different flow conditions and different volume fractions of nanomaterials. The effective thermal conductivity of the nanofluids has been measured using KD2 probe. The experimentally determined convective heat transfer coefficient has been compared with the heat transfer coefficient obtained using the conventional correlations wherein the thermal conductivity and viscosity values experimentally measured have been substituted. In order to explain the process of the enhanced coefficient of heat transfer for nanofluids a sort of physical insight is given.
