Abstract

1. To rate the damageability of intensely cyclically work hardening materials or materials which are subject to intense cyclical loss of strength in rigid symmetric and asymmetric nonstationary loading with a single change in the amplitude of deformations it is necessary to use linear totalling of relative deformations. In single or two step multiblock loading linear totalling both of relative lives and of deformations gives results which are close to unity. Theorefore it is more rational to use the less complex rule of linear totalling of relative lives. 2. To determine the cyclic plastic deformation (the width of the elastic — plastic hysteresis loop) under conditions of nonstationary rigid loading it is necessary to use the parameters of cyclic stationary loading and the transition numbers of half cycles kji, determined with the help of linear totalling of the relative deformations or lives according to the above described method.
