Abstract
In this work, experimental reseaches of the effect of a DC electric discharge with jet electrolytic cathode and liquid anode at atmospheric pressure on carbon fiber are carried out. Experimental studies were carried out in the voltage range U= 100-1300 V and discharge current 1=0.02-1.8 A. A 20% NaCl solution in process water was used as liquid electrodes. The length of the jet varied lc = 10÷50 mm, the diameter of the jet dc = 1÷3 mm. The optimal form of discharge and modes for processing carbon fiber have been established. The optimal mode of electric discharge which is between a jet electrolytic cathode and a liquid anode at atmospheric pressure is revealed. After processing for 30 s, the tensile strength of the modified samples changed by 7% compared to the untreated sample.
