Abstract
The rotational isomer equilibrium of 1,2-dichloroethane has been studied by condensing effusive molecular beams into an argon matrix. Comparison of results with data of other authors shows that it is possible to trap the conformers in a ratio determined by the thermal equilibrium in the molecular beam source.
