Abstract
The main purpose of the study was to assess the level of worker's awareness of OS&H work conditions. The methodology was based on a structured questionnaire, delivered by the researchers in association with trade union representatives in the workplaces. Women's response to the questionnaire and the content of their answers are quite different from those of their male colleagues, indicating that Greek industry is defined, to a large extend, in gender terms as far as working conditions are concerned. Interesting views are being reported regarding the culture of gender and its treatment in labor affairs. It is the first time that such an investigation has been conducted among Greek workers. The study constitutes a solid ground for registering Greek industries' OS&H views from a gender point of view. This paper is the first international discussion of this study regarding this focus, and it is being written by two of the authors of the HELP-SAFE Report.
