Abstract

The decomposition of the matrix element for e-italic/sup +/e/sup -/..-->..qq-barg in terms of invariant tensors and amplitudes is analyzed. A set of amplitudes that is convenient for performing perturbative calculations in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) using a covariant gauge and dimensional regularization is presented. It is shown how to project out these amplitudes from any given Feynman diagram, and this projection technique is used to rederive the one-loop QCD corrections to e-italic/sup +/e/sup -/..-->..qq-barg efficiently in compact form.
