Abstract
We consider where teaching is at in electromagnetic theory and its applications and where it should be headed in the next few years. Student expectations for the college experience and methods for learning and curriculum delivery are changing. Key elements are experiential learning and conceptual learning, active learning, and thoughtful scoping of the curriculum. These ideas provide a backdrop for later chapters in the book.
