Abstract

The aim of the present volume is to broaden the current knowledge of José Bleger’s work and to focus on his significant contribution to psychoanalytic thinking. In doing so, this book hopes to bring forward his ideas and clinical experience, which deserve to be known and discussed by present-day psychoanalysts. Bleger has been one of the most renowned pioneers of Latin American psychoanalytic thinking. His ideas deserve to be shared with the psychoanalytic community, to build a productive debate between his paper and the reader. The urgency and depth of this debate is the urgent need to resolve the rough edges of its most extreme positions. Thus, hopefully, a reasonable balance of an overview can be achieved.
