Abstract
Abstract Professional development in general education often appears in the guise of a single new tool or method that will bring educators together in shared purpose. We know, on reflection, that this kind of thinking is illusory. Portland State's University Studies (UNST) has endured because it has understood how to nurture and sustain the learning of educators in human/e terms. Meeting challenges to collaboration, however daunting, UNST serves as a resilient model.
