Abstract

The intrauterine contraceptive device has been an effective method of contraception for many years; however, migration of the device from the uterus is a known rare complication. A 28-year-old woman who presented with irritative lower urinary tract symptoms was found to have an intrauterine device with an associated calculus. We are the first to report the use of the holmium laser to endoscopically fragment and remove the intrauterine device and its associated calculus.
