Abstract

Single and dual prepacked intraoperative kidney films (Kodak Eastman Company) were tested in experimental studies and were used in 45 patients for intraoperative detection of renal calculi. In 92.5% of patients (38/41) operative removal of calculi was verified, or the correct diagnosis of residual calculi by intraoperative radiography was confirmed by post-operative studies. From the diagnostic point of view, no real advantage of the dual films over the single prepacked films was seen.
