Abstract
This book, the most recent addition to the<i>Biopsy Interpretation Series,</i>systematically reviews and illustrates the pathology of proliferative lesions of the breast, with particular emphasis on the clinicopathologic correlations of the lesions discussed. Due to its small size, the book's survey of mammary pathology is limited in scope. Nonneoplastic lesions such as mastitis, subareolar abscess, fat necrosis, and gynecomastia are completely neglected. Proliferative intraductal and invasive epithelial lesions of the breast are covered in depth. Stromal neoplasms are surveyed in less detail; a small group of recently described or rare neoplastic lesions such as juvenile papillomatosis, mammary hamartoma, and mammary lymphoma are not discussed. The volume divides neoplastic epithelial lesions of the breast into six categories, based on their clinical significance.
