International Scientific Conference “Bulgarian Catholics and Italy through the Centuries”, Dedicated to the 350th Anniversary of the Death of the Bulgarian Catholic Prelates Petar Bogdan Baksic, Petar Parcevic and Filip Stanislavov (Naples, October 28 – 29, 2024)
The article presents, in a historical perspective, the political and cultural relations between Bulgaria and Italy, discussed at the International Scientific Conference “Bulgarian Catholics in Italy through the Centuries,” organized by the Neapolitan University “Orientale” on October 28 – 29, 2024, in Naples. The scientific forum was dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the death of three Bulgarian intellectuals and patriots who defined the character of the “golden 17th century” of Catholicism in the Bulgarian lands: the prelates Petar Bogdan Bakshich, Petar Parchevich, and Filip Stanislavov. The reports examined still unpublished or little-known data and documents regarding the activities of these heroes from the archives of the Vatican, Venice, and Naples, which reveal even more clearly the connection of these figures and their followers in the 18th and 19th centuries with Italy and the Italian language through which they became the first propagators of the Bulgarian national Revival.

A monograph prepared based on the results of the research carried out within the framework of the project “Stages of development of glazed ceramic ornament and its scientific cataloging (Grant No. FR-21-8738)”. The research was carried out at the LEPL N. Berdzenishvili Kutaisi State Historical Museum. Man began making ceramic vessels and painting them with intricate ornaments in prehistoric times, and since then this activity has become an integral part of his life. The foundation for covering ceramic vessels with glaze has been laid since time immemorial. Its history spans millennia. The development of this field in Georgia is mainly associated with the Middle Ages (VIII-XVIII centuries). In this regard, the territory of the city of Kutaisi is no exception, as evidenced by the very interesting fragments and artifacts of glazed ceramics discovered during archaeological expeditions led by Professor Omar Lanchava in 1984-2010 years. These materials are valuable in that they can provide a clear answer to many questions related to the problem of identifying analogies and characteristic features of glazed ceramics, the study of historical, cultural, and socio-economic relations with near and far abroad, etc. The collection includes materials made by local craftsmen as well as materials brought from other regions; in addition, there are samples molded on the basis of foreign traditions. Despite the diversity of the collection, the traditions of glazed ceramics production in the territory of the city of Kutaisi and the history of its development have not yet been sufficiently represented in scientific literature; the ornamental decor of ceramics with historical and ethnographic references, aspects of its artistic and stylistic development, traces of foreign influences, etc. have also been poorly studied. In this regard, the Kutaisi collection is considered a rich source. Here are fragments of pottery, which were decorated with various ornamental motifs – geometric (lobes, rings, concentric circles, ovals), floral (stylized leaves, flowers, branches, curls); floral-geometric; Zoological (various birds, fishes, wild animals), abstract compositions and various symbols (religious, solar disk and dragon). The mentioned ornaments have significant artistic and scientific value. From here, we consider it a worthwhile task to study and analyze the stages of early development and introduce them into scientific discourse. Within the scope of the above-mentioned project, the history of glazed ceramics production was elucidated through the analysis of the remains of ceramic workshops and glazed artifacts found as a result of archaeological research in the Kutaisi region, in particular, in the territory of the Kutaisi Fortress and the city; structural-typological analysis and grouping of ornamental decor; Analysis of its historical and artistic transformation from the earliest epoch – through comparison with the ornamentation of ceramics of neighboring regions and the search for parallels on other monuments (monumental and miniature painting, stone reliefs, embossed icons, decorative enamel, textiles). An unofficial article and report for symposia – both in Georgia and abroad – were prepared and published by the project authors: Kartsidze N., Lanchava O., Ugrekhelidze I., Sulaberidze D., Sarava N. It is these publications that formed the basis of this work. We hope that it will be of interest to specialists and the general public interested in cultural heritage. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia for supporting the project, as well as to the host organization and colleagues, without whose help it would have been difficult to successfully carry out the research.

The article is devoted to summing up the results of the international scientific conference “Russian Literature and National Sovereignty of the 18th — 19th Centuries” held at the IMLI RAS on October 13–15, 2020. The problem of the scientific forum is regarded as one of the central problems of humanitarian knowledge in Russia. The principal task of the conference is defined as the need for the first time to present in all the richness and positive content of the relationship between the Russian literary classics and the Russian sovereignty of the 18th — 19th centuries. Modern methodological approaches, responsible assimilation of facts allow us to assert that it is precisely in accordance with the national state and its ideals that Russian literature of the 18th — 19th centuries. Modern methodological approaches, responsible mastering of the facts allow asserting that this is a nation state and its ideals in accordance with which, the Russian literature of the 18th — 19th centuries reaches its prophetic sound, full contemplation of the world, aesthetic perfection. At the same time, the full-blooded development of Russian literature is in Russia during the imperial period the most important factor in the prosperity of the nation state, the purification and approval of state ideals. The article analyses the main directions of the conference, the problem-thematic range of the event, which made it possible to demonstrate the real results of research work of foreign, Moscow and Russian scientific schools, for the first time to formulate the problem of “Russian literature and statehood” as an independent and promising direction of scientific research.

The results of evaluation of 30 collection varieties of tobacco on podzolized chernozem in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine at the Tobacco Research Station of the National Scientific Centre «Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine» by a set of basic morphological and economically valuable features with the aim of the parent pairs selecting for hybridization have been presented in the article. The sources of valuable features that will be involved in the selection-and-seed process for the creation of new competitive varieties and hybrids of tobacco in the soil-and-climatic conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine have been identified. Factor and cluster analysis of tobacco varieties which allowed obtaining a comprehensive evaluation by their complex of studied features was carried out. The application of the factor analysis in the process of synchronous study of the features influence on the seed productivity of all studied varieties showed that they can be divided into three clusters, which sufficiently explain 73.32% of their total variation. The application of the factor analysis gave the possibility to determine the main features, on which the formation of the seed productivity depends - inflorescence density, capsules amount in the inflorescence, seeds weight from the inflorescence and seed yield. Three clusters containing information on the level of features formation by to the complex of the seed productivity elements of the plants were specified according to the results of the cluster analysis of the factor values of the collection tobacco varieties. The third cluster including eight tobacco varieties: Ternopilskyi 7, Ternopilskyi 14, Krupnolystyi 52, Hostrolyst Zhovtyi 3, Hostrolyst Yuvileinyi novyi, Bravyi 200, Virginia 27, Temp 321 had a selection value.
