International Conference on Green Agro-industry and Bioeconomy

Abstract

PrefaceOn behalf of the Committee, we would like to thank you to all participants from six countries (the USA, Japan, Thailand, Philipine, Malaysia, and Indonesia) for their great supports and contribution to the International Conference on Green Agro-Industry and Bioeconomy (ICGAB) 2018 held on September 18-20, 2018 at Universitas Brawijaya Malang Indonesia. Last year, ICGAB was successfully held and attended by a total of 310 participants from 8 countries.This year, ICGAB is intended to promote and to stimulate improvement in the quality and relevance of agroindustry and bioeconomy research, as well as to share the perspectives of many stakeholders (academia, scientists, researchers, policymakers, NGOs, engineers, scholars, environmentalists, and industry expert) from the developing and developed world. The event emphasise on addressing the challenges in all areas of sustainable development and to promote a holistic perspective and/or approach in strengthening the national welfare; encourage collaborative research among participants; facilitate interaction among researchers in several countries, universities, industry and governments interested in agroindustry and bioeconomy; disseminate the research results to provide the knowledge base needed to support bioeconomy policy in the future.ICGAB 2018 was well attended with 13 topics covered, where all presenters had shared their experiences and research, beneficial to support sustainable development and strengthen the valorisation of tropical resources for national welfare in Indonesia. This year, we collaborated with PERMI (Indonesian Society for Microbiology), SEARCA SEAMEO, FKPTTPI (Indonesian Communication Forum for Higher Education of Agricultural Technology), KBI (Indonesian Bietechnology Consortium), PATPI (Indonesian Association of Food Technologist), PERTETA (Indonesian Society of Agricultural Engineering), and APTA Indonesia (Indonesian Society of Agricultural Technologist), in organising and promoting the event. We also collaborated with IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science to publish the conference proceedings.This volume records the selected manuscripts submitted to the ICGAB 2018. All the manuscripts were double blind peer-reviewed arranged by the editorial committee.The Editors would like to thank you to the reviewers who provided their valuable comments and suggestions, to all the authors for their trust and contribution, and also to IOP publisher for their on-going support for publication of the proceedings.Editor-in-Chief
