Abstract

AbstractAccepting international development aid has been an important part of China’s reform and opening-up policy. Cooperating with the United Nations, the World Bank, and other multilateral and bilateral organizations in poverty alleviation has been an integral part of China’s acceptance of international development assistance. The international organizations not only provided financial assistance, but also helped China learn and draw on internationally advanced concepts and methods for rural development and poverty alleviation. The international experiences have had a positive impact on theory, policy, and institutional building for China’s rural poverty alleviation and development in localized practice and promotion, and have significantly enhanced innovation in poverty alleviation and development mechanisms. China’s poverty reduction efforts have also significantly contributed to global poverty reduction. The country’s experience has also been studied by other developing countries in South–South cooperation and the Belt and Road international cooperation. China will continue to cooperate with multilateral and bilateral organizations for poverty reduction to contribute more to global poverty reduction and the establishment of a community with a shared future for mankind.KeywordsPoverty reductionInternational cooperationMultilateral and bilateral development assistanceSouth–South cooperationInternational poverty reduction
