Abstract

There are limitless possibilities for wiki websites in the library environment. The features of wikis are especially beneficial to interlibrary loan departments that make frequent changes to their (usually electronic) services. GTD Tiddly Wiki is an easy to use and learn tool for staff to keep track of changes. It is free, open-source software available online. Instead of being installed on a web server, it can be saved to a shared network drive. The JavaScript commands, which run behind the scenes, allow postings on multiple topics while the webpage is still saved as a single file on your computer. Permanent procedures can be posted to the GTD Tiddly Wiki website. The ease of updating information makes it an ideal way to share temporary announcements with staff.
