Abstract

When and why is it necessary to apply an interdisciplinary research perspective in the field of journalism? Is there an inclusive interdisciplinary model that allows a deeper understanding and explanation of the complex issues and problems that are present in the journalistic field? If so, can the journalistic field have a theoretical core that allows journalism specialists, academics and researchers to address interdisciplinary topics from a particular disciplinary point of view and, at the same time, also achieve real value for the company and the internal epistemological logic of the journalistic field itself? What are the essential theoretical steps that make up the integrated model of the interdisciplinary research process applied to the journalistic field? Is the treatment possible from the perspective of interdisciplinary research of journalistic ethics for Ibero-America? This article aims to answer these and other questions by bringing reflection to practice when dealing with a complex social and journalistic problem: the role of ethics in the journalist's professional practice in the context of research in Ibero-America. Therefore, journalistic ethics is considered key and common ground to integrate the contributions of disciplinary theoretical nuclei coming from sociology, journalism and communication, as well as from gender and discourse studies.
