Abstract
AbstractChapter 9 reviews the free energy of adsorbing walks and polygons, specifically covering the adsorption transition in adsorbing walks. The location of the adsorption transition is discussed, as well as adsorbing walks in a slab. Self-avoiding walk models of adsorbing copolymers, collapsing self-avoiding walks and the theta transition are reviewed. The chapter also discusses a dense walk model of collapsed walks. Finally, the free energy of collapsing and adsorbing walks is examined, as are pulled self-avoiding walks and the phase diagram of pulled adsorbing walks.
