Abstract
The paper presents a method of intelligent predictive supervising of thermal deformations in precise machine tools. A method of design of experiments is shown to be applicable to setting up the knowledge base of thermal errors of machine tools. Application of the multiple regression analysis in working out the predictive model of deformations is discussed. Accuracy of the model in supervising displacements is demonstrated basing on a computer simulation of machine tool thermal behaviour under service conditions.
