Abstract

This article aims to investigate the possibilities of inserting themes related to the study of the Philosophy of Mind, Artificial Intelligence and History of Computing in the field of education. In particular, the impacts of an educational activity around these themes and which was carried out with students of a Technology in Analysis and Systems Development course at the Caraguatatuba campus of the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP), remotely, in two different moments, in 2020 and in 2021, are analyzed. The impressions of the participating students on these topics were measured through the answers given by them to a questionnaire with closed and open questions, designed to be able to analyze the previous conceptions they bring on concepts in these areas. The systematization of the data obtained, through the responses provided to a "Google Form", produced tables and graphs that allowed us to understand the significant influence that popular culture, particularly works of science fiction, exerts on people's imagination when it's about thinking about the future of computing and the evolution of the relationship between machines and human beings.
