Abstract

Abstract In order to achieve higher accuracy and predictive capability in finite element simulations, the implementation of physically based microstructure models becomes inevitable. The underlying reason for this is that the dislocation microstructure and the evolution of texture largely influence the considered forming processes. The present article presents recent results of research activities on 3-dimensional rolling simulations of Al alloys and their experimental validation. The finite element simulations were carried out taking dislocation density evolution into account.
