Abstract
The pollution of the aquatic ecosystem by hazardous chemicals and other pollutants has assumed harmful proportions due to their toxicity and accumulative behavior. At least 200 million Indian citizens do not have access to safe water, which further results in various critical diseases for that particular community. Moreover, such diseases negatively impact the workforce, health, productivity, and efficiency of the local residents, which becomes a major challenge for sustainable development. To analyze the above-stated problem researchers have collected wastewater from three different sites of the Yamuna river for the experiment, whereas secondary data has been collected from various sources; published research articles from national and international journals, books, reports, newspaper articles, and websites. The wastewater was characterized for different Physico-chemical parameters before and after biological treatment. The results of the study revealed that there is significant variation in the quality of wastewater after treating with Effective Microbes technology. Moreover, researchers have developed a replicable dynamic model of sustainable development, comprising challenging and influencing determinants of development.
